LaunchPad Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
LaunchPad for Twitch is a browser extension by BadBadRobot. It helps you preview, search, filter, open, and control live Twitch streams from channels you follow. This policy explains the information the extension handles and how it is used.
Information the extension handles
- Twitch account information: your Twitch account identifier, display name, and profile image, used to identify your connected account and retrieve its followed live streams.
- Authorization information: a Twitch OAuth access token and token-validation information. LaunchPad does not request or store your Twitch password.
- Stream information: followed live channels, stream titles, categories, viewer counts, thumbnails, and avatars, used to display and cache your stream list.
- Twitch tab and player information: relevant open Twitch tab URLs, the active channel, and playback or mute state, used to reuse tabs, indicate the playing stream, and provide playback controls. LaunchPad does not use this information to build browsing analytics.
- Your choices: interface preferences, pinned channels, sorting, filters, and popup scroll position, used to remember how you use LaunchPad.
Storage and browser sync
Your Twitch authorization token, account information, stream cache, pins, filters, and other account-specific state are stored locally in the extension's browser storage. They are not sent to a BadBadRobot server.
In Chrome and Firefox, supported general preferences may be stored in the browser's sync storage and synced across devices through your browser account when browser sync is enabled. These preferences include theme, title animation, theater mode, single-tab mode, automatic ad muting, and sidebar visibility. Twitch tokens and account-specific information are not synced by LaunchPad. Safari keeps these settings local. Chrome and Firefox sync independently, not with each other.
Network requests and sharing
LaunchPad communicates with Twitch to authorize your account, validate your token, and retrieve account and stream information. Twitch's image delivery services provide thumbnails and avatars. These requests are subject to Twitch's privacy practices. Browser preference syncing is handled by your browser provider and its privacy practices.
BadBadRobot does not operate an extension analytics or advertising service, and LaunchPad does not send usage reports to us. We do not sell user information or use it for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to LaunchPad's features. We do not transfer user information except as needed for the features described above.
LaunchPad's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your control and data removal
You can disconnect your Twitch account by logging out in LaunchPad. Logout removes the stored access token and associated account-specific information, including the followed-stream list, pins, filters, and scroll position, while preserving general interface preferences. You can also revoke LaunchPad's access in your Twitch account's connection settings.
Removing the extension removes its local extension storage. Browser-synced preferences may remain associated with your browser account under the browser provider's retention and sync controls; uninstalling on one device does not necessarily remove synced preferences from other devices. Use your browser's sync controls to manage that data.
